How can skin tags be treated?
In the past, skin tags are being treated in a variety of ways.
The "old wives" treatment for skin tag removal is to tie cotton around
the base, strangling them and allowing the skin to die and drop off.
Although this certainly works, it goes through a very painful stage
when the tissue dies and can leave a scar. It is certainly not
recommended as a treatment.
Liquid nitrogen has been used to destroy the tissue but once again
this is very painful and quite often surrounding tissue is also
damaged. Usually this does heal without a scar with time.
One of the easiest and most effective ways of treating skin tags of
all sizes is to use Advanced Cosmetic Procedures (ACP) using an
electrolysis machine, also known as advanced electrolysis.
A trained electrologist can treat skin tags of any size without
anaesthetic. The principles are to use advanced settings on the
electrolysis machine to take the surface of the skin off of the skin
tag, and then to use electrolysis is to cauterise the blood supply.
The remaining tissue dries up and drops off over several days, in most
cases approximately 5 days later. As there is no nerve supply in the
skin tag, this can be done without any anaesthetic or without any
pain.
As a highly effective but also quick and easy procedure, with
excellent results and without the need of an anaesthetic, it is now
become the procedure of choice to remove skin tags. At Absolute
asthetics our electrologist is highly experienced in treating skin
tags of all sizes.
Will they come back after treatment?
Once treated, this skin tag is destroyed and will not come back.
However, if further friction continues to occur, new ones can form. Of
course these can also be treated successfully using the same
technique. |
